Taesus Upgrades His Brand
Taesus the producer, a friend of mine, had this great idea. Display his logo on shirts to promote himself. I do it for myself, so I'm glad he can see the value in what I do. What he didn't know, was that I provide the service of helping people create their own custom apparel. It's not all about me out here! I cant wait til I start having more similar requests. I've found a passion in creating my own clothing and creating clothing for others as well.
It's always a positive thing to show people you care about them and what they do. So designing for others is my way of showing love and respect. However, I got into this business partially because I like to be my own boss. Choose directly who I want to work with, and be first hand in the development of my brand. I enjoy helping out in every aspect of the designing process. While I didn't get the chance to help Taesus out with the initial design of his logo; it was still great that he had it all finished and ready to go. Making my job that much easier. I couldn't suggest anything else anyway. I thought the logo was pretty dope as is. The concept is unique, the colors were nice, even though it caused me some trouble when looking for different shirt colors to display the logo on.
Taesus wanted a variety of test material. After some conversation, we decided on 4 shirts that vary in size, color, and logo placement and size. After materials were purchased, transfers were made, the easy part finally arrived. The heat transfer. for those unfamiliar with the heat transfer process; through heat and a large amount of pressure, the design which is printed on heat transfer vinyl is turned into a gas that "transfers" to the material. This part still came with its challenges. This was the first time I've had the chance to work with this particular transfer type. I had to change my methods to accommodate the number of colors in Taesus's design.
Luckily, the shirts came out great! After pressing, and letting them cool for a sec (we had to heat it at around 300 degrees) they were crisp, clean, glossy, and a bit stretchy as well. Most definitely durable. I can't wait to see how his audience responds to the finished product.
